Did you know?

  • Almost 1 in 4 pregnancies ends in miscarriage, meaning you might have a positive pregnancy test but not need an abortion. The only way to confirm if a pregnancy is viable is with an ultrasound. We offer free, viability ultrasound so you can get the answers you need.
  • The FDA only approves the abortion pill through 10 weeks gestation. Accurately dating your pregnancy through an ultrasound is crucial to the decision-making process as it will determine if the abortion pill is even an option.
  • An incorrect (or inaccurate) last period date could result in an unsuccessful or incomplete abortion. A viability ultrasound, performed by qualified personnel, is the most reliable method of dating your pregnancy.
  • Q

WHAT IS THE ABORTION PILL (ALSO CALLED A MEDICATION/CHEMICAL ABORTION)?

The Abortion Pill is generally more than just one pill. It is two different medications (mifepristone and misoprostol) taken to end an early pregnancy (10 weeks or less). It is also referred to as a chemical abortion, medication abortion, or DIY abortion.

  • Q

SHOULD I HAVE AN ULTRASOUND PRIOR TO TAKING THE ABORTION PILL?

We recommend everyone have an ultrasound before ending or terminating a pregnancy for a few reasons. First, ultrasound is the most reliable way to determine how far along you are in your pregnancy (which will impact the effectiveness of an abortion). Additionally, an ultrasound is the only way to confirm that you do not have an ectopic pregnancy which is a serious, life-threatening case where a pregnancy occurs outside of the uterus.
