Light & Life Celebration Dinner is cancelled this year. See below video/letter for more information. In lieu of this event, we ask you to consider making your donation online at carenetps.org/donate and designate “Light and Life Banquet” under Fund. Thank you.
My name is Amelia Graham, and I am the Director of Communications for Care Net of Puget Sound, and on behalf of our Executive Director and all staff, I am making an important announcement.
As you likely heard, yesterday at 10:15am, in response to the spread of the coronavirus, Governor Inslee announced a ban on gatherings of 250 people or more through 3 counties, King, Pierce and Snohomish. This ban applies to gatherings including, but not limited to, fundraisers, concerts, sporting events, parades, conventions and religious gatherings. The governor also announced that, “violations of this order may be subject to criminal penalties.” We will have Governor Inslee’s announcement linked for your reference.
Proverbs 16:9 tells us, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.”
In His providential wisdom, God has allowed the coronavirus outbreak to affect our communities and, consequently, affect one of Care Net’s upcoming events.
I have the unfortunate duty of announcing to you that our 2020 Annual Light & Life Celebration Dinner scheduled for March 21st has been canceled. This night was prepared to be an uplifting evening where we would share what God is doing through Care Net in the Puget Sound area. 650 people planned to attend. Though we trust God’s control in all of this, we are obviously disappointed.
A team of Care Net employees is working diligently to ensure clear communication with all parties involved, and we are already looking forward to our 2021 Banquet. We will be releasing the date for next year’s banquet in the near future.
We would like to take this moment to encourage you to do three things:
First, please pray for not only us as we navigate the complexities of canceling an event this size, but most importantly pray for those who are directly affected by the coronavirus. Pray for the sick, the medical professionals, the families, the friends and especially pray for those grieving the loss of a loved one.
Secondly, please consider supporting Care Net as we face this significant financial blow. Our goal for this event was to raise $200,000 specifically for our medical services. Our medical services are a crucial part of what we do in our communities. We provide free pregnancy tests, free limited ultrasounds, free options education, and free limited STD testing. This year we will also be releasing a new medical service entitled the Abortion Pill Rescue, otherwise known as the APR or Abortion Pill Reversal. In certain situations, this new service will allow women to reverse their medical abortion even after it has already begun. 64-68% of the time, the APR is able to reverse the abortion and save the pregnancy. More information will be released on this service as we move forward. As you probably well know, providing medical care for free costs a lot of money, and our goal is to ensure any client who walks through our doors never has to pay for her/his services.
When you give to fund our medical services, you give women ultrasounds and the chance to see what God is forming inside them. When you give to fund our medical services, you give women the opportunity to change their mind on abortion, even after they have taken the first pill. When you give, you give first introductions, second chances, and life-giving hope. If you would prayerfully consider supporting our life-changing work, we would be incredibly grateful as would the tens of thousands of clients we serve each and every year.
We believe God knows our needs and will meet them in His perfect timing. We simply ask you to prayerfully consider if God is calling you to partner with us. If you would like to support our life-affirming ministry, please visit carenetps.org/donate. Please spread the word, spread the need and spread the hope of Jesus.
Finally, simply stay tuned. We will be releasing our 2021 Banquet date and more information regarding the Abortion Pill Rescue soon. Thank you to everyone who supports Care Net of Puget Sound, and thank you to the hundreds who planned on attending and giving. We are moving forward in hope, grateful to an ever-present God who always provides for all of our needs.
Moving forward in hope,
Care Net of Puget Sound
