Pregnancy Date Information

Pregnancy terminology can be confusing.  There are two ways of dating pregnancy.

  • Gestational Age is the reference traditionally used by medical providers to date pregnancy and refers to how long it’s been since the first day of a woman’s last menstrual period (LMP).

  • Fertilization age refers to how long it’s been since conception (the fertilization of the egg by the sperm).  Most women ovulate in the middle of their monthly cycle (or approximately 2 weeks before their next period would begin).

Example: 4 weeks from conception = 6 weeks from the LMP

We offer FREE Limited Ultrasounds, which can verify how far along you are and determine if the pregnancy is viable. (Come in for a free pregnancy test first).
